I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to be featured in a wonderful and inspiring magazine: Lifestyle + Charity Magazine. Funnily, at the time I was doing a interview for this feature it was during hurricane Issac. I literally had a brief span of time to finish it before the internet/electricity went out from the storm. Thankfully I finished in time; I’m excited to finally be able to share this with you!
Other creative things I like to do: This was my mardi gras costume this year! The whole point of making a mardi gras costume is to try to use things you already have around the house and to make everything else yourself for the least amount of money. It is amazing the costumes people throw together this way. I was attempting to personify the season of spring, with my own retro twist. I sewed an old dress together with a green curtain and sheer fabric I had from a previous costume. I made paper flowers from colorful tissue and hand-dyed coffee filters with kool-aid to make the larger flowers. Not sure I achieved my inspiration, but I had such an enjoyable time putting this together.
I’m already making up plans for next year’s mardi gras costume :)
